May 26, 2020

Due to CT Governor Ned Lamont’s Executive Order #7H in regards to outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), along with consultations from our Local Health Department, Local Officials, and our own in house consultants; we are OPEN with modifications. These changes below are in effect until at least June 20, 2020 or whatever date the Governor of CT decides on.

Candlewood Valley Country Club is a privately owned 18 Hole Public Daily Fee Golf Course. We are not owned or operated by the local municipality. We are, and always will be, committed to the caring of our guests and team members Health and Well Being.

Please Please Please follow these guidelines! We know there are so many rules out there now due to this pandemic, but we need to follow these guidelines to stay OPEN! We do not want to close back up because of ones carelessness or ones "need to make a statement." Failure to follow these guidelines will result in removal from the property with no refund and suspension of priveleges.

Please Remember We are All In This Together!

Clarification was issued by the CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Office and the CSGA stating that we may "open, but with great restrictions" which are reflected in the following...

  • If you feel sick, or have otherwise been exposed to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), please stay home! By now, some of our guests and staff have experienced loved ones or friends go through this virus and would like your consideration to please help stop the spread.
  • Please maintain "Social Distancing" - and Masks are required when checking in to the golf shop, in the Street Cafe area (except while dining) and on course whenever social distancing practices can not be adhered to.
  • There has been quite a bit of “Golf Shaming” during this pandemic of local courses and it can and will happen here. We are all in this together so Please do your part to practice social distancing. Congregating around the clubhouse, on course, and in the parking lots is strictly prohibited due to the CT Governors Executive Order and IT LOOKS CARELESS during a pandemic! (we are not concerned with what other courses may allow, we would like to remain open once we open for the season. Please Practice Social Distancing!)
  • Entry to, and Exit from, the parking lot/clubhouse area will be clearly marked. Please follow these instructions.
  • Greens Fees and Cart Fees purchased Online or over the phone is Highly Recommended (there will be few exceptions where paying in golf shop will be permitted)
  • Tee times will be at 13 minute intervals.
  • Unless you are from the same household (we can allow you to ride together) We must adhere to a single rider cart policy. Of course, we are a “walking friendly” golf course and you may choose to walk your round.
  • The clubhouse and the restaurant are closed/locked due to the Executive Order and will reopen only when the executive order is rescinded.
  • We are offering limited service dining and take out at our temporary "Street Cafe" located in front of the clubhouse. Operating hours vary please check with the golf shop for current operating hours.
  • Check-in protocol. Our Pro Shop has been reconfigured to permit only one guest in the shop at a time. Ground Markings delineating 6’ increments will be outside the pro shop. The Golf Shop desk has been moved to the front door and a Plexiglass barrier is partitioned between customer & staff at the desk. All staff are properly versed on sanitation and will practice it.
  • Sanitized Carts will be staged near hole 10 (where you will tee off from to start your round) Please follow the starters instructions.
  • Please remove your trash from carts and use trash cans for this (we have plenty of them) do not leave trash on carts or throw your trash on the course.
  • We will start all players on the 10th tee to begin their round on the Back 9 and then make the turn and play the front 9. This will alleviate any cross traffic from carts in front of the clubhouse. Please return your carts after your round at the designated spot near the exit area.
  • Benches have been blocked off, ball washers removed, bunker rakes have been removed and each hole is set up to minimize contact. Please do not handle the flagstick at this time.
  • Congregating/tailgating in the parking lot is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with accordingly.
  • Any other additional modifications due to the Governors Executive Order, or what we determine to be in our guests and staffs best interest will be communicated and must be followed.

Sincerely,

Candlewood Valley Country Club
