Candlewood welcomes all golfers with disabilities and mobility challenges. Recently, we have made our golf course even more accommodating to ensure that golfers with disabilities are able to enjoy our course. From Holes 11 through 16, we have created entrances to tee boxes, fairways, and greens that are specifically marked as “Accessible Entrance Only.” (The signs are blue and white on a blue pole.) In addition, we have two (2) Paramobile golf carts which are designed to help wheelchair users discover a new and unimagined level of freedom and independence on the golf course.
At Candlewood, The paramobile is for use by disabled veterans, paraplegics and quadriplegics, adults and children with neurological challenges, MS, CP, Parkinson’s, amputees, or even seniors with balance issues.
The Stand Up and Play Foundation was formed to help wheelchair users and other people with impaired mobility have the opportunity to stand up and participate in sporting, artistic and other daily events.
We actively promote Golf As Therapy through our chapter "Candlewood Valley CC Chapter of The Stand Up And Play Foundation."
