Candlewood welcomes all golfers with disabilities and mobility challenges. Recently, we have made our golf course even more accommodating to ensure that golfers with disabilities are able to enjoy our course. From Holes 11 through 16, we have created entrances to tee boxes, fairways, and greens that are specifically marked as “Accessible Entrance Only.” (The signs are blue and white on a blue pole.) In addition, we have two (2) Paramobile golf carts which are designed to help wheelchair users discover a new and unimagined level of freedom and independence on the golf course.
The Paramobile
At Candlewood, The paramobile is for use by disabled veterans, paraplegics and quadriplegics, adults and children with neurological challenges, MS, CP, Parkinson’s, amputees, or even seniors with balance issues.
1. Please let our Starter and Golf Shop Staff know before you check in that you will need your standard golf cart programmed via its GPS to “Accessible Golf/Mobility”
2. The use of the Paramobile will require a brief training before you can use it for a round. Please call 860.354.9359 ext 3 for more details and to set up a training session.
3. In the event of severe weather, unexpected course conditions, or for golfer safety; accessible entrance points and use of Paramobile may be temporarily suspended or access rules may be modified.
